Mrs. Agnes Rebecca Miles Dottinger, age 95, of Carrollton, Georgia passed away Friday, January 23, 2009 at her residence. Mrs. Dottinger was born in Brooklyn, New York, to John J. and Agnes (Campbell) Miles. She was the youngest of three children. She married Richard Emil Dottinger on July 5, 1941, who preceded her in death as well as her stillborn son. She is survived by her daughter, Christine Calhoun and her husband, John; and her two step-sons, Robert Dottinger and his wife, Diane and Thomas Dottinger and his wife, Sudy. Mrs. Dottinger is also survived by her seven grandchildren, Barbara Taryla, Marie Pauline Matthews, Nancy Sparks, Richard Dottinger, Paul Dottinger, Amy Dottinger, and Kathryn Leahy; and ten great grandchildren. While attending Sunday school as a child, she learned that Godâs name was Jehovah. At that time, she told all her friends about Godâs name being Jehovah. She did not learn anything more about Jehovah until the mid 1940âs, when she was called on by Jehovahâs Witnesses. The thing that impressed her the most was the scripture in Rev. 21:3,4 where she learned that death and pain would be no more. She dedicated her life to Jehovah and was baptized in 1948. Ever since then, she has been known for her zealous kingdom preaching activity. She has served as a regular full time pioneer since late 1984. Her family and friends will greatly miss her. Knowing that she is no longer suffering with her illness and has remained faithful to the end of her earthly course, brings comfort to everyone that knew and loved her. May we all continue to be as faithful as Agnes. A memorial service will be conducted Saturday, January 31, 2009 at 3:30 PM from the Carrollton Kingdom Hall of Jehovahâs Witnesses, 401 Almon Road, Carrollton, Georgia with Tim Sprinkle officiating.
