A.J. Evans

Mr. A.J. “Jay” Evans, 79, of Greenville, Georgia, passed away Saturday, June 17, 2017 at Piedmont Newnan Hospital. He was born February 21, 1938 in Ashburn, Georgia, son of the late Hubert and Ruth Evans. A resident of Meriwether County for the last twenty seven years, he retired from the Local 387 as a Iron Worker in 1986. After retiring, his love of the outdoors, hunting, and fishing became his pastime. He was of the Christian Faith. He is preceded in death by his father Hubert Evans, mother Ruth Evans; and sister Bobbie Evans. He is survived by his wife Norma Evans of Greenville; two sons and daughters-in-law, Tony and Sandy Evans of Powder Springs and George and Tina Evans of Greenville; two grandsons, Cody Evans of Dallas and Randy Evans of Greenville. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville, Monday, June 19, 2017 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at 10:00 AM at the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville with Minister Michael Williams officiating.
