Mr. Alfred Bradford Smith, age 94, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Sunday, January 5, 2020. He was born October 22, 1925 in Douglasville, Georgia, the son of the late Alfred D. Smith and the late Pauline Morris Vaughn. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served in WWII. After serving active duty, he worked as a Chief Warrant Officer for the Army National Guard. Mr. Smith was a professional cattleman who raised Black Angus cattle. He enjoyed spending time with his family. Mr. Smith was a member of Heritage Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister Lottie Robbins; half-sisters, Eunice Butler, Lovie Morris and Maude Cunningham.
Mr. Smith is survived by his wife of over 69 years, Mrs. Martha Wix Smith of Douglasville; his sons and daughters-in-law, David and Joan Smith of Atlanta and Phil and Lisa Smith of Kennesaw; his sister-in-law, Mary Wix of Lawrenceville; 7 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews also survive.
Graveside Services with military honors provided by the United States Army Honor Guard will be conducted Thursday, January 9, 2020 at 2:00PM at the Eastside Mausoleum at Rosehaven Cemetery in Douglasville with Pastor Gene Fields officiating.
