Alice Golden McCleary

Alice Golden McCleary passed away on February 20, 2025, at the age of 84. She was born on December 2, 1940 to the late Lizzie Mae Wright Morris and Charles Morris. A founding member of Grace Baptist Church, established in March 1983, Alice's faith and commitment to her beliefs influenced those around her. Alice's love for her family, particularly her adoration for children, was a cornerstone of her life. She graced her family gatherings with warmth and joy, often expressed through her exceptional culinary skills. A great cook, she delighted in preparing delicious meals, creating an inviting atmosphere that brought everyone together. Her zest for life was evident in her passions beyond the kitchen. Alice loved music and dancing, and her enthusiasm for life and her engaging presence left lasting impressions on those fortunate enough to know her. Alice’s legacy lies not only in her contributions to her church and family but also in the countless lives she touched with her kindness and compassion. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, and her memory will forever remain in the hearts of her loved ones. 

She is preceded in death by her sister, Imogene Smith; her brothers, Jimmy Morris and Joe Morris; her grandson, Jeremy Walker; and her great-great-grandson, Baby Finn.

She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Kathy Golden of Villa Rica, Georgia and Brenda (Larry) Thomas of Villa Rica, Georgia; her sons and daughters-in-law, David (Brenda) Golden of Gainesville, Georgia, Barry (Glenda) Golden of Temple, Georgia and Dwight (Lisa) Golden of Douglasville, Georgia; her sister, Corine Pace of Villa Rica, Georgia; her grandchildren, Kristy, David Jr., Candace, Daphne, Christopher, Jennifer, Stephanie, Madison, Connor and Anthony; 22 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. 

The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 22, 2025 from 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM at the Villa Rica Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 PM on Sunday, February 23, 2025 at Grace Baptist Church in Villa Rica with interment to follow at Meadowbrook Memory Gardens.
