Mr. Allan Bruce Guest, 76, of Douglasville, GA passed away on Thursday, August 20 at his home. Allan was born in Tampa FL on January 30, 1944 to the late Sara Guest and Bruce Guest. He attended Thomas Jefferson High School, and obtained a bachelor's degree in Education from Valdosta State University. He retired from Amoco Fabrics/Nashville Mills as well as Norfolk Southern Railway. An avid reader, Allan also loved to fish, camp, and travel, highlighted by a trip to Israel following his retirement. His children recall him as a devoted and doting father, he adored and spoiled his grandchildren and their families. He was a member of the Duncan Masonic Lodge number 234, Nashville GA. He was a man of faith who was called to teach the Gospel through various ministries and Sunday School, most recently leading studies at Blue Grass Personal Care Home. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend of thirty-six years, Anelda Futch Guest. Four of their five children: Angela Massey (Mike) of Olive Branch, MS; Bruce "Jackie" Guest (Becky) of Leesburg, GA; Jennifer Stockinger of Alexandria, PA; Dane Lancaster (Sheri) of Nashville, GA. His eight Grandchildren: Joshua Massey, Jessica "Brandi" Roberts, Hannah Massey, Bruce Guest Jr., Karlee Guest, Jackson Guest, Dana Murphy and Dustin Lancaster. He is additionally survived by eleven great-grandchildren and two sisters: Dona (Troy) Griner of Nashville, GA and Linda (Claude) Watkins of Highlands, TX. Allan was preceded in death by his parents and his youngest son, Joel "Joe" Guest. Services will be led by the Rev. Jim Grieme and Grandson Joshua Massey. Viewing will be held from 1-3pm on Sunday August 23 at Jones Wynn Funeral home in Douglasville, GA, Funeral Service will follow immediately thereafter at 3pm. Graveside Services and Masonic Rites will be held on Monday August 24 beginning at 4p at the Guest Mill Pond Cemetery near Pearson, GA.
