Alta Mae "Jean" Gentry

Alta Mae “Jean” Gentry, 87, of Villa Rica, passed away on Wednesday, December 6, 2023. She was born on June 10, 1936. She is the daughter of the late Jasper Prince Griffin and late Eula Mae Vines.

Family meant everything to Jean. She reveled in the role of grandmother. Jean had many passions in life, but two things held a special place in her heart: dogs and cooking.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded by her husband, Alvin Manco Gentry; son, Tony Gentry; brothers, Hugh Griffin and Earl Griffin; sisters, Aileen Williams and Elaine Williams.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Cynthia Gentry of Villa Rica; grandchildren, Anthony (Denise) Gentry; Michelle (Donny) Smith, Jessica Gentry, and Cody (Makenzy) Gentry; eleven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 10, 2023 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home Villa Rica Chapel. Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, December 10, 2023 at 2:00 PM from Jones-Wynn Funeral Home Villa Rica Chapel. Interment will follow at Asbury Cemetery in Temple.
