Alta Harris

Alta Elizabeth “Liz” Galford Harris, age 81, of Winston, passed away, Wednesday, March 25, 2015. She was born February 20, 1934 in Knawls Creek, West Virginia the daughter of the late Mr. Ira William Galford and the late Mrs. Laura Pearl Gifford Galford. She retired from Waffle House after many years of service. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers, Ross Galford, Kent Galford, Denver Galford, Raymond Galford; sisters, Leone Zito, Dortha Farnosh, Gae Bennett, Hallie Norman and Gertrude Bacorn; one grandson, Noble Lee Pirkle.She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Ronald Weathington of Winston, Jenny and Randy Hathcock of Douglasville, Lana Jo and Paul Finni of Carrollton, Janet Williamson and Scott Crittenden of Acworth; sons and daughters-in-law, Dale and Brenda Harris of Temple, Darrel and Jo Ann Harris of Temple; sisters, Evelyn Roberts of Akron, Ohio, Lorene Wasmer of Weirton, West Virginia; former husband, Landon Harris of Temple; fifteen grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild. Several nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica Friday, March 27, 2015 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, March 28, 2015 at 4:00 PM from the Liberty Baptist Church in Winston with Rev. Joey Vaughn and Rev. Joshua Agan officiating.
