Mr. Alvie Manco Gentry, 79, of Navarre, Florida, formerly of Temple, Georgia passed away Wednesday, August 3, 2005 at Bay Breeze Nursing and Retirement Center in Gulf Breeze, Florida. He was born August 26, 1925, in Haralson County, Georgia. He was the son of the late Thomas Jefferson Gentry and the late Lula Vines Gentry. Mr. Gentry was a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Korean Conflict. He was a cabinet maker. In addition to his parents, Mr. Gentry was preceded in death by two brothers, Garvin Gentry and Arlin Gentry. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Alta Mae âJeanâ Griffin Gentry of Navarre, Florida; two sons and daughters-in-law, Anthony âTonyâ Wayne and Susan Gentry of Navarre, Florida and Michael Douglas and Cynthia Gentry of Villa Rica; one sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Ernest Smith of Carrollton; four brothers and sisters-in-law, J. B. and Dot Gentry of Temple, Lee and Bonnie Gentry of Griffin, David and Lois Gentry of Carrollton and Hiram and Stella Gentry of Carrollton; 4 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, August 9, 2005 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica with Mr. Ernest Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Meadowbrook Memory Gardens in Villa Rica, Georgia.
