Mr. Alvin “Dinky” Eugene Stephens, age 51, of Atlanta, Georgia passed away Saturday, October 24, 2015. He was born October 30, 1963 in Atlanta, Georgia the son of Mr. Alvin Junior Stephens and Patricia Sheena Carlyle Stephens. He enjoyed his work as a diesel mechanic and was an avid motorcycle enthusiast. He loved his children and family. He was preceded in death by a sister, Sandra Stephens and a brother, Chuckie Gaines. He is survived by his six children and their spouses, Kristina Southworth of New Mexico, Amanda and Clint Ayers of Douglasville, Alvin E. “Punchie” Stephens, Jr. and his wife, Amanda of Carrollton, Josh Stephens of Douglasville; Dillon Stephens and Curtis Stephens of both of Gainesville; and their mother, Samantha Stephens; his father, Alvin Junior Stephens and his wife Ann of Douglasville; his mother, Patricia Sheena Carlyle Stephens of Winder; his fiancé, Christina Kettering; step-children, Haley Streeval, Carl Kettering III, and Curtis Garner; sisters, Tawana Lynn Stephens of Douglasville, Colby and Bill Stephens of Pensacola, and Sue Ann Rhodes of Carrollton; brothers, Shane Stephens of Pensacola, FL, Ricky Stephens of Winder, Lee Poteete of Forest Park, Chris Gaines of Birmingham, AL; 16 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville Wednesday, October 28, 2015 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Thursday, October 29, 2015 at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville.
