Mr. Amos Filmore Whiddon of Villa Rica passed away on Monday, May 9, 2016 at the age of 84. He was born in 1931 in Bascom, Florida and is the son of the late David Conley Whiddon and Susie Bazell Whiddon. Amos served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War and worked as an aircraft mechanic at Eastern Airlines for 34 years. He loved spending time with his wife, family and friends. His favorite pastime was golf and most days he could be found playing at Oak Mountain Golf Club. Just recently, he was excited to hit his fifth hole-in-one. In addition to his parents, Amos was preceded in death by his siblings: David, Buren, and Doris Whiddon. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Dolores Booth Whiddon of Villa Rica; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and David Samani of Smyrna; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and LeAnnet Whiddon of Douglasville; sister, Frizzell Altobellis of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL; numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.
