Mrs. Angela Maria Nelson-Proctor, age 46 of Douglasville, Georgia, passed away Monday, June 24, 2019 at her residence. She was born February 27, 1973, the daughter of Charles and Shirley Nelson. She graduated from High Point High School in Beltsville, Maryland and furthered her education at The University of Maryland in College Park where she received her Masterâs in communications. Her passion was modeling, at the age of eight years old she became Little Miss Maryland. She continued with pageantry where she was a contestant and ranked third place in Miss America. She was a great listener and problem solver for many people. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends. She was a devoted advocate speaker for Autism and Cancer. Mrs. Proctor is survived by her husband, David Franklin Proctor, Jr. of Douglasville, Georgia; son, Brandon Nicholas Nelson of Douglasville, Georgia; mother and father, Charles and Shirley Nelson of Beltsville, Maryland; sister, Teresa Nicole Nelson of Beltsville, Maryland; brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles H. and Irene Nelson of Los Angeles, California; and Jeffrey and Betsy Proctor of Bowie, Maryland; two nieces, Destiny Nicole Nelson of Beltsville, Maryland, Anne-Marie Proctor of Bowie Maryland; two nephews, Charles H. Nelson III of Los Angeles, California; and Gavin Robert Nelson of Los Angeles, California; the parents of David Franklin Proctor, Robert and Jennifer Kemp of Salisbury, Maryland. In lieu of flowers, all contributions can be sent to her husband. Her family paid this tribute, âAngela was one of the kindest people you will ever meet. She opened her heart and home to many people as well as family. Angela will be sorely missed.â According to her wishes she was cremated.
