Christy Huey

February 24, 1968 — February 26, 2026

Temple

Anita C. “Christy” Huey, 58, of Temple, entered into God’s arms on Thursday, February 26, 2026. She was born on February 24, 1968, the daughter of the late John “Billy” Huey and the late Joyce Williams Huey.

She was a beloved daughter, sister, niece, aunt, great-aunt and friend to everyone. Christy leaves behind a legacy filled with laughter, kindness, and an undeniable spirit that touched everyone she met. Christy possessed a vibrant personality, marked by her deep affection for family. Among them, her beloved Maw held a special place in her heart, as they shared a unique bond, often referred to as each other's mini-me, maybe because they waddled together. She was a sweet soul with a commanding presence, Christy proudly took charge of her siblings, Johnny and Connie. Whether it was trying out new activities or simply leading the way, she inspired them to embrace life with the same enthusiasm that she did. Her playful nature brought joy to everyday experiences, creating a family atmosphere rich with love and laughter.

Christy was a proud graduate of Central High School in 1990. She was a passionate bowler and she not only participated in the Special Olympics but also joined a bowling league. Christy loved watching TV, especially Dukes of Hazard, and J.R. Ewing. She found pleasure in the simplest of things, like indulging in potatoes in any form or swigging Coca-Cola or as she called it “Coco-Swig.” These small joys remind us all to savor the little moments.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Johnny Huey.

She is survived by her sister, Connie Huey Morrow of Temple, and Anna Huey of Ranburne, AL; nephews, Ryan and Tori Morrow, Dakota Morrow; niece, Kaylan and Blake Thomas; great nephews and nieces, Tyson and Kendyll Thomas, Isabella Morrow and Madeline Morrow; several cousins; special aunt and uncle, Linda Miller and David Austin
