Ann Chaffin

Mrs. Ann Hubbard Chaffin, age 83, of Villa Rica, passed away, Friday, August 22, 2014. She was born April 2, 1931 in Athens, GA the daughter of the late Mr. Hugh William Hubbard and the late Mrs. Nola Sullivan Hubbard. Mrs. Chaffin began her professional career at the C & S Bank now known as Bank of America. She later became a Seminar Coordinator at Hewett Packard in Houston where she retired. Mrs. Chaffin was a very dedicated Christian and always active in her local church, including: The First Baptist Church of Decatur, Tallowood Baptist Church in Houston, TX, Briarlake Baptist Church in Tucker, Rockdale Baptist Church in Conyers, and was a current member of The Tabernacle Baptist Church in Carrollton. She was a member of the Kiwanis Club of Fairfield and the Fairfield Women’s Club. She was a volunteer at the Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton and the Carroll County Soup Kitchen. She and Mr. Chaffin square danced for over twenty years and traveled as far as Russia and Poland. She was a member of the Friendship Force Travel Club. As members of this club, she and Mr. Chaffin traveled to twenty seven different countries. She also attended clown school, afterwards traveling extensively to entertain children. Mrs. Chaffin loved to garden and the fruits of her labor shows in her beautiful yard. Most importantly, Mrs. Chaffin dedicated her life to her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two brothers, Billy Hubbard and Bobby Hubbard.She is survived by her husband, Curtis Chaffin of Villa Rica; daughter, Georgia Ann Oxford of Conyers; two sons, Bill Chaffin of Villa Rica and Jim Chaffin of Buford; six grandchildren, Catherine Chaffin Stahl, Amanda Clara Chaffin, Julie Marie Seabolt, Natalie Grace Conner, Cristie Ann Meadows and James Curtis Chaffin; four great grandchildren, Aubrey Ann Meadows, Evan Meadows, Ela Seabolt and Bridget Stahl. Several nieces and nephews also survive.The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica, Saturday, August 23, 2014 from 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM. Mrs. Chaffin will lie in state from 1:30 until the funeral hour. Funeral Services will be conducted Sunday, August 24, 2014 at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Tabernacle Baptist Church with Rev.
