Mrs. Clara Ann Cooper Winston, age 84, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Friday, April 11, 2014 at Wellstar Tranquility Hospice. She was born August 1, 1929 in Mississippi the daughter of the late Mr. Curtis Cooper and the late Mrs. Eva Mae Batson Cooper. She worked as a tax secretary for Southern Company, Georgia Power. After retirement, she enjoyed her time spent with family and volunteering for the Meals on Wheels Program. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Douglasville for over 24 years where she enjoyed gathering with her church family and volunteering on Wednesday to prepare the Sunday Service music presentation. She was a Proverbs 31 woman that loved the Lord with all her heart and loved taking care of her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James C. Winston. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Deborah âDebbiâ and Charles âChuckâ Sumrall of Lithia Springs; sons and daughter-in-law, Lee Winston of Douglasville and Steve Allan and Lisa Winston of Guyton, Georgia; brother, Robert âBobâ G. Cooper of Douglasville; three grandchildren, Adam and Denise Snelling of Dallas, Hannah Winston of Guyton, and Cody Winston of Guyton; three great-grandchildren, Courey Snelling, Erica Snelling, and Melissa Snelling all of Dallas; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville, Tuesday, April 15, 2014 from 10:00 AM until the service time at 2:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at 2:00 PM at the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Dr. John Pennington officiating.
