Annie Lee Strickland, 91, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home on December 15, 2023. She lived a life filled with love, kindness, and dedication to her family and those around her. Born on November 14, 1932, in Carrollton, Georgia, Annie was the daughter of the late Mr. Wiley Horsley and the late Mrs. Inez Bearden Horsley.
Annie had a career as an Assembler for Metal Roofing and worked at an Avon Manufacturing Center for close to 25 years. Her dedication and attention to detail were evident in her work. She took great pride in her contributions to the company and formed many lasting friendships. In her personal life, Annie was a pillar of strength and support for all who knew her. She was always there for a friend in need, offering a listening ear or words of wisdom. Her selflessness knew no bounds as she constantly put others before herself.
Annie's strong personality encompass many admirable traits. She was a loving individual who had an innate ability to make everyone feel important and cared for. She spent countless hours taking care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she adored with all her heart. In addition to being a caretaker, Annie had the heart of a teacher and healer. She was patient and understanding with those around her, offering guidance when needed. Her presence brought comfort to those going through difficult times.
In addition to her parents, Annie is preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Lee Strickland, daughter, Brenda Holtzclaw, and sister Marie Luttrell.
She is survived by her son, Eddie Strickland; daughter, Lisa (Steve) Faulkner; brother, Larry Horsley; grandchildren, Traci Legere, Alan Holtzclaw, Jason Holtzclaw, Joshua Faulkner, and Mathew Faulkner; great-grandchildren, Austin, McKenzie, Adeleigh, Kynnlee, and Kylie, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 from 11 AM to 1 PM, followed by the funeral service at 1 PM at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home Chapel in Douglasville. The interment will follow at a private cemetery in Douglasville.
