Mrs. Annie Mauddell Howard Phillips, age 80, of Villa Rica, passed away Monday, June 17, 2019. She was born May 12, 1939 in Acworth. The oldest of three daughters of the late Mr. Willard Hilton Howard and the late Mrs. Kerri Bell Shumaker Howard, Annie spent her life dedicated to her family. Mrs. Phillips was an Auditor with the US Government and Lockheed, retiring only after many years of dedicated service. She will be remembered as a tireless caregiver and advocate for her husband after he became limited in mobility, a beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Sanford Phillips, Sr. on December 10, 2018.She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Joy and Harley Barnes of Villa Rica; two sons and daughters-in-law, James Sanford âSandyâ and Dianne Phillips of Roswell, Gregory âGregâ Lyle and Debbie Phillips of Dallas; two sisters, Juanita Little of Dallas, Jerelene Jones of Dallas; five grandchildren, Ashley Dianne Phillips of Alpharetta, Courtney Nicole Phillips and Jesse Sythe of Wethersfield, CT, Daniel James Barnes of Carrollton, Ellen Marie Barnes and Brian Ness of Smyrna, TN, Olivia Noell Phillips of Carrollton; four great grandchildren, John âJackâ Everett Tirey of Alpharetta; Max Sythe, Emma and Jake Sawyer, along with several beloved nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home Thursday, June 20, 2019 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Friday, June 21, 2019 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of Jones- Wynn Funeral Home with Rev. Doug New officiating. Interment will follow at Mountain View Park Cemetery in Marietta.
