Anthony Chris Allison

Mr. Anthony “Chris” Allison, age 52, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at the VA Medical Center in Augusta. He was born July 3, 1962 in Cordele, Georgia. He served in the United States Army and after being honorably discharged, he reenlisted in the United States Coast Guard. He retired with 21 years of service to the country. During his military career, he served with the 3rd and 7th Special Forces and was awarded two Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, American Legion and the Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA). He was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Jean Martin Allison. He is survived by his wife, Sharon Watson Allison of Douglasville; his father and stepmother, James Barry and Nell Allison of Cordele; stepdaughter, Audra Furlong of Huntsville, AL; stepson, Andrew Furlong of Douglasville; his sister, Vickie Hurst of Savannah; one niece, Michelle Meyers of Savannah; one great nephew, Henry Meyers IV. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville, Saturday, August 23, 2014 from 2:00 PM until the 3:00 PM funeral hour. Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, August 23, 2014 at 3:00 PM at the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville with “Super Pops” rendering the eulogy. Military Honors will be provided by the United States Military Honor Guard. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Patriot Guard, Christian Motorcyclist Association, and the American Legion. In lieu of flowers, the family requested memorial donations in memory of Mr. Chris Allison to the Christian Motorcyclist Association, Patriot Guard, or the Fisher House Foundation.
