Mr. Archie Roland Harmon, Jr., age 81 of Douglasville, passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2019. He was born February 12, 1938, the son of the late Mr. Archie Roland Harmon, Sr. and the late Ruth Cole Harmon. Mr. Harmon loved spending time with his family, especially his South Carolina family. He also enjoyed being with friends, and he loved going fishing. He took many trips to Helen, Georgia, where he would talk and visit with everyone. He was a deacon at Ebenezer Baptist Church where he loved going to church. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by brother, Charles Harmon; sister, Maggie Scott. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Barbara Thompson Harmon of Douglasville; daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Mark Lewis of Douglasville; sons and daughter-in-law, Jimmy Harmon of Douglasville, Archie Harmon of Carnesville, Scott and Roxy Harmon of Dallas; sisters, Jeanette Cummings of Temple; Rebecca Fields of Temple; brother, L.G. Harmon of Winston; four grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home of Douglasville Friday, May 31, 2019 from 2:00 PM until 9:00 PM and Saturday Morning, June 1, 2019 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, June 1, 2019 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home of Douglasville with Rev. Jeff Childers and Pastor Chip Abernathy officiating. Interment will follow at Meadowbrook Memory Gardens.Messages of condolences may be sent to the family at www.jones-wynn.com.
