Anastasia & Aria – Daddy's words:
It started with a simple phrase, shouted with joy, "I am Pregnant!" She said, "I hope it's a girl". I said, "I hope it's a boy". We talked about baby names and what we would do. We watched the joy in her womb as it grew and it grew. We looked at each other, as we both surely knew whatever God brings us, we would love just the same. At the first doctor's visit, our surprise was exquisite. The ultrasound showed that two babies were in it - Twins!! We were elated with fear and excitement. How will we manage this joy that God provided? Then we looked at each other, as we both surely knew, however God blesses you, He provides for it too.
It came on a Monday. The pain and the blood. It came quite unwelcome, with no warning to speak of, on Ash Wednesday, before first light, our precious Angel Anastasia Marie jJoined Jesus in heavenly flight. Valentines Day, still mired in pain, Jesus came calling her sister by name. He took her so gently, Little Aria Rose, to play with her twin sister in their heavenly home. Two weeks it was on us and we ask our God, "Why?" That right there in our hands, our precious baby girls died. Then we looked at each other, as we both surely knew, that when we are weak, God is strong and carries you through. Now instead of booties and diapers, this most twisted of turns, brings to us fires and vaults and cute Teddy Bear urns. We did all that could be done by a woman and a man. So we look up to heaven, and we know it's God's plan - two Babies so special, they stayed just an instant, but left on our hearts the deepest of footprints. Then we looked at each other, as we both surely know, that Jesus saved them and in him they will eternally grow.
