Barbara Ann Ballenger DiGuardi

Mrs. Barbara Ann Ballenger DiGuardi, age 59, of Villa Rica, Georgia passed away Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at Tanner Medical Center in Villa Rica, Georgia. Mrs. DiGuardi was born August 18, 1949 in Walker County, Georgia, the daughter of the late Mr. Henry Grady Ballenger and the late Mrs. Jewell Inez Hall Ballenger. She worked in the service industry. Mrs. DiGuardi was of the Baptist faith and a member of the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary for 31 years. In addition to her parents, Mrs. DiGuardi was preceded in death by her brother, Gordon Ballenger. Survivors include her longtime companion, John Kirkland; her daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Carl Hopkins of Villa Rica; son, Anthony Sean Kirkland of Fort Campbell, Kentucky and is currently serving our country in Iraq; her sisters, Tina Ballenger of Douglasville, Glenda Hicks of Villa Rica and Sheila Ballenger of Douglasville; her brothers and sister-in-law, Bobby Joe Ballenger of Douglasville and Bo and Barbara Ballenger of Villa Rica; her grandchildren, Lori Hopkins, Suzanne Hopkins, Seth Hopkins and Jamie Hopkins; and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted Friday, November 21, 2008 at 7:00 PM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica with Rev. Jeff Jones officiating. Musical selections will be rendered by Rev. Ben Pilgreen. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica on Friday, November 21, 2008 from 4:00 PM until the funeral hour.
