Barbara Virginia Blackford

It’s with heavy hearts we want to announce the death of our mother Barbara Virgina Blackford, February 2, 2024. At the age of 86, she passed suddenly of natural causes at her residence in Douglasville Georgia.  

She was a worldly traveler who never met a stranger and would help anyone who needed it. She was dearly loved and will be deeply missed. She is survived by her brother Danny White, sister Kay White and four daughters Cheryl Palmer, Deanna Fessenden, Melinda Edwards, Regina Beasly and seven grandchildren with many great grandchildren. She always loved to walk on the beach,  she’d say, 'the sun’s going down over the Gulf of Mexico... may you keep your back to the wind and toes in the sand.” 

She was an active member of Mt. Gilead Methodist Church, of Atlanta Georgia, a memorial service will be announced at a later time.
