Barbara Gibson

Ms. Barbara Jean Gibson, age 75 of Douglasville, passed away Monday, February 18, 2019. She was born May 19, 1943, the daughter of the late Mr. Rufus Smith and survived by her mother Mrs. Verl Draper Thomas. She loved to cook, entertain and create her own recipes. Ms. Gibson enjoyed traveling and being with her family. She loved to play board games, cards and word searches. She was a very loving mother, daughter, sister, friend, and was known to many as “Nana.”In addition to her father she is preceded in death by a grandchild, Janae Gibson.She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Sgt. Jachlin Williams of Dayton, Ohio, Sgt. Cheli Chappell of Dayton, Ohio, Simone Crawford and Retired Master Sgt. Albert Crawford III of St. Augustine, Florida; sister, Tanya Walker of Lithonia; brother, James Thomas of Texas; eleven grandchildren, Tech Sgt. Jason Gibson (Tech Sgt. Dollie Gibson), Brittani Padovano, Bryan Gibson, Adarian Roberson, Donte Roberson, Ahmad L. Kane, James A. Chappell, III, Desiree K. Chappell, DaRaun M. Crawford, and AKayla B. Crawford; eight great grandchildren, Bren-Nye Gibson, Arya Gibson, Serinity Roberson, Kamaria Gibson, Ilyssa Marsh, Scout Padovano, Hunter Padovano, Stryker Padovano; also survived by several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home of Douglasville on Saturday, February 23, 2019 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM. Memorial Services will be conducted Saturday, February 23, 2019 at 1:00 PM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home of Douglasville with Rev. Danny Horsley officiating.
