Barbara Jean Vollrath Bowlin

December 31, 1941 — April 6, 2006

Mrs. Barbara Jean Vollrath Bowlin, 64, of Bent Creek Lane, Kennesaw, Georgia, formerly of Talledega, Alabama, passed away Thursday, April 6, 2006 at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta, Georgia. She was born December 31, 1941, in St. Clair County, in Ashville, Alabama. She was the daughter of Ernest and Kathleen Harmon Vollrath. She was a member of the Abundant Life Church of God in Hiram, Georgia. Mrs. Bowlin was a devoted and faithful pastor’s wife. She played the piano and organ and taught Sunday School. She worked as financial secretary for 17 years for the Salvation Army in Atlanta. Mrs. Bowlin is preceded in death by her husband, Rev. William H. Bowlin. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Wanda and Christopher Clackum of Marietta; sons, Lyndon Bowlin of Marietta, Chris Bowlin of Kennesaw and Theron Bowlin of Kennesaw; her parents, Kathleen Harmon Vollrath and Ernest Vollrath of Mableton; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Fay and Alan Burns of Cleveland, Tennessee, Estelle and Homer Davis of Mableton and Jan and Robert Johnson of Austell; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard and Marie Vollrath of Hiram and Joel and Brenda Vollrath of Hiram; 2 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, April 8, 2006 at 1:00 PM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica, Georgia with Minister Harvey Bowlin, Sr. and Minister Thomas Blagg officiating. Interment will follow at Meadowbrook Memory Gardens in Villa Rica, Georgia. The family will be receiving friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica, Friday, April 7, 2006, from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM Messages of condolence may be sent to the family at www.jones-wynn.com.
