Barbara âBobbyeâ Rogers (ne Barbara Jackson), (86), passed away on Friday, March 6, 2015 in Powder Springs, Georgia. Mrs. Rogers was born on May 10, 1928 in Ochlocknee, Georgia to Evan Howell and Lynna Joiner Jackson. She had one sister, Evelyn J. Kelley. As a young woman, she attended Berry College in Rome, Ga. In 1952, Mrs. Rogers married Robert Edwin Rogers, and together they had one daughter, Donna Lynne Rogers. Bobbye attended Highlands Presbyterian Church, Tucker First Presbyterian, and after her move to Douglasville, First Presbyterian Church of Douglasville.Mrs. Rogers began work at Davisonâs department store in Decatur, Georgia in 1964. She worked in sales and later became a telephone operator. After Macyâs bought out Davisonâs and consolidated communications, Mrs. Rogers went to work at the Macyâs downtown store. She would ride MARTA with ease and transfer trains to go to the Peachtree Street station.Bobbye was always known for her talent of playing the piano by ear and for her infectious laughter. She loved life. Family and friends will miss her giggling laughter. Bobbye is survived by her daughter, Donna Green, her son-in-law, Morgan Green, and her only granddaughter, Annie Elizabeth Green. She also is survived by nieces and nephews: RoseAnne Hopkins, Susan Mills, Patricia Rogers, Jimmy Rogers, Wally âSkipâ Rogers, Dennis Rogers, MaryHelen Rogers, Mike Kelley, Richard Kelley, and Steve Kelley. There will be a memorial service on Saturday, March 14, 2015 in the chapel at the First Presbyterian Church located at 9190 Campbellton Street, Douglasville, GA at 11am.
