Barry Glenn Dukes, age 59, of Douglasville, passed away Sunday, October 16, 2022. He was born June 1, 1963 in Waycross, Georgia, son of the late Mr. Graham Bagley Dukes, Sr. and the late Mrs. Peggy Joyce Cannady Dukes. Glenn earned his BBA in Finance from Georgia Southern University in 1985, a Master of Business Administration from Kennesaw State University in 2000, and a Master of Business Education from the University of West Georgia in 2009. After having a successful career in the world of business and finance, he discovered his true passion in the field of education. Glenn was an intelligent man who loved teaching having worked in the Paulding County School System for 13 years and, most recently, the Cobb County School System for the past 1 ½ years. He loved all sports which showed through his many years of coaching. He loved his wife, his family, his friends and his students without reservation; however, he was a true man of God who always placed his faith first. He shared his love of God with anyone and everyone who would listen. His wit and sense of humor endeared him to anyone he met. He was a master of sarcasm who had a joke or a witty comment for any occasion. He was loved and admired by all who were blessed to be included in his circle during his life here on earth. His greatest desire if he could not see you sooner, was that he would see you later on the streets of Heaven.

He is survived by his wife of almost 33 years, Lisa McCoy Dukes; sisters,  Maudlene Dukes of Waycross, GA, Elaine Dukes Griffin of Flagler Beach, FL; brothers, Graham (Carlene) Dukes, Jr. of Waycross, GA, Jonathan (Mary) Dukes of Cleveland, TN; brother in law and sister in law, Ken (Christine) McCoy of Villa Rica, GA; father in law, Robert McCoy of Woodstock, GA; mother in law, Linda McCoy of Douglasville, GA; nine nieces and nephews, Emily McCoy, Tyler McCoy, Brandon (Tricia) Dukes, Brittany (Caleb) Peacock, Brent (Breanna) Dukes, Justin Griffin, Daniel (Samantha) Griffin, Clayton (Grace) Griffin and Sara-Allison Dukes; numerous cousins and great nieces and nephews.
