Ben Duffey

Mr. Ben Harold Duffey, age 91, of Carrollton, passed away Friday, February 17, 2012 at Pine Knoll Nursing and Rehab Center in Carrollton. He was born October 31, 1920 in Ellerslie, Georgia the son of the late Mr. Clifford Duffey and the late Mrs. Lena Corene Duffey. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp having served in World War II and was a recipeient of the Purple Heart for his service in Iwojima. He retired from Lockheed-Martin where he built C-5 airplanes. He was of the Baptist Faith. He is survived by his daughter, Lucy Barrett of Ballground; step-daughter, Ramona Taylor of Villa Rica; sister, Juanita Gore of Phenix City, AL. According to his wishes he was cremated. Memorial Services will be conducted Saturday, February 25, 2012 from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM from the fellowship hall at Draketown Baptist Church.
