Bennie Ray Thigpen

Mr. Bennie Ray Thigpen, age 77 of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Wednesday, July 21, 2021. He was born February 4, 1944 in Atlanta, Georgia, the son of the late Mr. Bennie Felix Thigpen and the late Mrs. Jeanette Entrekin Wilkes. Mr. Thigpen was known as quite a jokester. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and cooking. Mr. Thigpen was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Mrs. Nancy Elizabeth Hunt Thigpen; brothers, Joseph Thigpen, Ronnie Thigpen, and Ricky Thigpen. Mr. Thigpen is survived by his wife, Mrs. Shirley W. Smith of Douglasville, Georgia; daughter and son-in-law, Elaine and Kenneth Carroll of Dallas, Georgia; sons and daughter-in-law, Danny and Sonya Thigpen of Douglasville, Georgia, Scott Thigpen of Douglasville, Georgia; sister and brother-in-law, Novie and Randy Seay of Griffin, Georgia; five grandchildren, Andy and Abbey Thigpen, Brett and Kacie Carroll, Zachary Thigpen, Jacob and Jordan Thigpen, Gage Thigpen; six great grandchildren, Aiden, Aubree, Allie, Addison, Eisley, Avery; numerous nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home of Douglasville Sunday, July 25, 2021 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. Funeral Services will be conducted Sunday, July 25, 2021 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home of Douglasville with Bro. Tony Hart and Bro. John Lance officiating.
