Bessie Hood

Miss Bessie L. Hood, age 79, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Thursday, January 30, 2014 at her home. A native of Douglas County, she was born December 28, 1934 in Douglasville, Georgia the daughter of the late Mr. Arthur Lee Hood and the late Mrs. Celia Jones Hood. She retired after 37 years with the VA Medical Center Atlanta as a Nursing Administrator. She was a member of the First Baptist Church Lithia Springs. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Robey Lee Hood and niece, Lorrie Gouse. She is survived by her brother, Edward T. Hood of Douglasville; niece and her spouse, Renee and Rick Clark of Douglasville; nephew and his spouse, Art and Kim Hood of Douglasville; grand nieces and grand nephews, Jen, Erica, Marissa, Ali, Greyson, Drew, Mackenzie, and Raegan. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville, Sunday, February 2, 2014 from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Sunday, February 2, 2014 at 3:00 PM at the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville with Dr. Marion Beaver and Pastor Kevin McKoy officiating.
