Mrs. Bessie Mae Timms Morris, age 76, of Whitesburg, GA formerly of Douglasville passed away Thursday, April 23, 2009 at Carrollton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following an extended illness. She was born September 21, 1932 in Felton, GA the daughter of the late Mr. Thomas Jefferson Timms and the late Mrs. Mary Ingle Timms. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Douglasville and worked as a cook for the Douglas County School System. Mrs. Morris enjoyed quilting and sewing and was an avid reader. She loved to cook especially for her loving family. She was a devoted mother to her six children and a loving grandmother, and great-grandmother. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Lemuel Morris, Jr. and her daughter, Judy Elaine Williams, and grandson, Robby Perry. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and Chris Merritt of Whitesburg, Dorothy and Grady Norton of Murphy, NC, Janice Monroe Perry of Cedartown, and Barbara and Rickey Young of Winston; son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Ronalyn Morris of MO; sisters and brothers-in-law, Dolly Mae and Richard Glowacki of Douglasville and Minnie Lee and Bobby Surrett of Piedmont, AL; brother and sister-in-law, Buddy Thomas and Shirley Timms of Cedartown; son-in-law, Ricky Williams of Douglasville, husband of the late Judy E. Williams; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted Monday, April 27, 2009 at 11:00 AM from the Douglas Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Rev. Alton Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Northview Cemetery in Cedartown, GA. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel, Sunday, April 26, 2009 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
