Betty Mae Marshall Andrews, 95, of Lithia Springs, passed away on Wednesday, June 17, 2026 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 9, 1931, in Alexandria, Virginia to the late Anna Schreiner and Charles Edward Marshall.
Betty lived a life marked by dedication, faith, and a deep love for those around her.
Her educational journey began at Sylvan Hills Elementary, continued through Joseph E. Brown Junior High and Girls High. She graduated in the class of 1949 from Joseph E. Brown High School. These formative years laid the foundation for a career characterized by service and commitment.
Betty chose a path of public service, dedicating her early career to State Government work after graduation. After raising her four children, she worked at Lithia Springs High School, serving in the attendance and discipline office from 1975 until her retirement in 1995. She touched the lives of countless students and colleagues during her tenure.
She was woman of strong faith. Her personality radiated warmth and kindness; she loved people deeply and valued the connections she nurtured throughout her life.
Beyond her professional and spiritual commitments, Betty found joy in various hobbies and interests that enriched her days. She treasured time with her family, who were central to her life. She had a passion for music—singing in the choir and playing the piano and handbells. She also had a great love of reading, her green thumb was evident in her love of gardening, and she exhibited patience and creativity through needlework.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Robert Howard Andrews and brother Charles Edward Marshall Jr.
She is survived by her children, son Steve Andrews (Kaye), daughter Sandra Warr (Mark), daughter Beverly McKown (Scott), and son Edward Andrews; grandchildren Andy McKown (Megan), Geoffrey Warr (Deborah), Kelly Thompson (Ty), Katie Yawn (Joel), Bonnie Ervin (Tyler), and Robert Andrews; great-grandchildren Matthew Warr, Emily Warr, Eli Thompson, Henry Ervin, Stella Ervin, and Charlotte McKown.
The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville on Friday, June 19, 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be conducted at Lithia Springs Methodist Church on Saturday, June 20, 2026 at 11:00 AM. She will lie in state before the service from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM. Interment will be at Westview Cemetery in Atlanta, GA following the service.
The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers; Andy McKown, Geoffrey Warr, Matthew Warr, Tyler Ervin, Joel Yawn, and Michael Barrett.

Betty Andrews leaves behind a legacy of faith, service, and affection for family and community. Those who had the privilege to know her will remember her gentle spirit, strength of character, and the many ways she brought comfort and joy to others.
