Betty Camp Busbin

Betty Camp Busbin, 88, of Douglasville, passed away on February 21, 2025. Betty was born on August 4, 1936 to the late Lucy Bonner Camp and Clarence Orvin Camp. Betty lived a life filled with passion, creativity, and dedication to those she loved.

Betty was known for her hobbies, artistic talents, and especially for her chocolate cake. She was a great cook that found joy particularly in baking, sewing and nurturing her beautiful flower gardens. Betty was a long-time Girl Scout leader and enjoyed the mentorship that the Girl Scouts provided to young girls so that they could grow up to be confident and capable women. In addition to her hobbies, Betty was also a sports fan. She proudly cheered for the Douglas County High School Tigers and remained a steadfast supporter of the Atlanta Braves.

Betty had a special place in her heart for her nieces and nephews, as well as her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She adored them fiercely, showering them with love and support, and she took great joy in being an integral part of their lives.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Mable C. Brown and her brother, David S. Camp. 

She is survived by her loving husband of over 65 years, Mr. Wiley Johnson Busbin Jr.; her daughter, Beth B. (Missy Sullivan) Biddulph; her sons, Steven J. (Betty) Busbin and Kenneth W. (Robert) Busbin; her sisters, Jane C. Williams and Anne C. (Larry) Meek; her brother, Charley Camp; her grandchildren, Seth Biddulph, Paul Biddulph, Rebekah Gruca, Nicholas Busbin, Austin Busbin and Mallori Busbin; great-grandchildren, Sydney Busbin, Alex Biddulph, Logan Biddulph, Brentley Busbin, Jackson Butler, Emory Busbin, Jade Busbin and Wiley Gruca; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

Betty Camp Busbin's legacy is one of love, kindness, and passion for life. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends, reminding everyone of the beauty of a life well-lived.

A graveside service will be held at Sunrise Gardens of Memories in Douglasville, Georgia on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at 12:00 PM.
