Mrs. Betty Ann Housworth Chastine, age 81, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Monday, September 26, 2011 at her residence. She was born March 24, 1930 in Atlanta, Georgia the daughter of the late Mr. Paul Murphy Housworth and the late Mrs. Velma Mae Moss Housworth. She was a member of Dorsett Shoals Baptist Church in Douglasville. She worked as a medical secretary for St. Joseph’s Hospital for 13 years and Wellstar Douglas Hospital for 15 years until her retirement in 1995. She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Vernon Chastine on May 27, 2004. She is survived by her children, Murphy Lee Chastine of Douglasville and Sharon Chastine Joyner and her husband, Clayton of Colorado; sister and brother-in-law, Wylene and Jimmy Garrett of Lithonia; 3 grandchildren and their spouses, Shelley and Glenn Lyons of Loveland, CO, Jeremy and Meredith Julie Lynch of Salem, OR, and Meredith Rebekah Lynch of Loveland, CO; 5 great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be conducted Friday, September 30, 2011 at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville with Rev. Tom Kaplan and Rev. Kevin Maples officiating. Interment will follow at College Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel, Thursday, September 29, 2011 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and Friday, September 30, 2011 from 9:00 AM until the funeral hour.
