Betty Colburn

Mrs. Betty Lou Shurtz Colburn, age 79, of Temple, passed away, Thursday, February 16, 2017. She was born January 17, 1938 in Grinnel, Iowa. The daughter of the late Mr. Leslie P. Shurtz and the late Mrs. Rachel Fern Snider Shurtz. Mrs. Colburn retired from Bank of North Georgia after 30 years of service. Mrs. Colburn enjoyed bird watching, painting, her animals and flowers. She was a devoted Christian and was very devoted to her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Orville “Dan” Colburn; daughter, Sharon Lou Davis; brother, Leslie Shurtz; sisters, Kate Moe and Jo Bemis. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, John and Diane Wiegers of Denver, CO; son-in-law, Mike “Rosie” Davis of Temple; 5 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica, Monday, February 20, 2017 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Minister Bill Gray and Minister Phillip Wynne officiating.
