Betty Jean Gazaway

Mrs. Betty Jean Gazaway, 69, of McKown Road, Douglasville, Georgia passed away Saturday, February 25, 2006 at her residence. She was born February 2, 1937 in Douglas County Georgia the daughter of the late Mr. Ed Cotton and the late Mrs. Mamie Ernest Cotton. She married William L. Gazaway on September 4, 1954. She was a member of Welcome Hill Baptist Church in Douglasville and was a homemaker. She served as a Kindergarten Parapro for the Douglas County School System for many years. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Mr. William L. Gazaway of Douglasville; one daughter, Beverly Laney of Winston; one son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Susan Gazaway of Douglasville; 2 grandchildren, Anthony Laney and Brian Collins; 1 great grandchild, Chandler Collins; several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted Tuesday, February 28, 2006 at 1:00 PM from the Douglas Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Brother Johnny Ivey officiating. Interment will follow at Mozley Memorial Gardens in Lithia Springs. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, February 27, 2006 from 5:30 PM until 9:00 PM. In lieu of flowers contribtutions may be made to Welcome Hill Baptist Church, 3309 McKown Road, Douglasville, Georgia 30134.
