Mrs. Betty Joyce Lewis Summerville, age 83, of Villa Rica, passed Thursday, February 13, 2020. She was born April 16, 1936 in Buchanan the daughter of the late Mr. Gordon Lee Lewis and the late Mrs. Julie Inez Partridge Lewis. Mrs. Summerville was a seamstress for many years. She loved her church, reading the bible, traveling to the mountains, crocheting, cooking and most of all taking care of her family. She was a long time member of Word of Hope Pentecostal Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Buford Curtis Summerville; sons, Donald Summerville, David Summerville; grandchild, Tarah Summerville; brothers, Bobby Lewis and Jimmy Lewis; sisters, Barbara Sherbert and Ruby Harrell.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Peggy and Dennis Billingsley of Temple, Pamela and Jason Spray of Villa Rica, Cynthia and Chad Bell of Bremen; sisters and brother-in-law, Sara Mae Folsom of Bremen, Linda and Donnie Carroll of Buchanan; eight grandchildren, Jamie Smith, Kevin Smith, Kristan Kee, Deidre Summerville, Jessica Ennis, Joe Tomlinson, Brandi McCormick, and Elizabeth Spray; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica, Saturday, February 15, 2020 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Sunday, February 16, 2020 at 3:00 PM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Rev. Anthony Bivins and Pastor Jason Spray officiating. Interment will follow at Buchanan City Cemetery. Those desiring to do so may make donations to the Parkinson's Foundation, Georgia Chapter.
