Mrs. Betty June Higgins, 72, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2008 at Wellstar Douglas Hospital in Douglasville, Georgia. Mrs. Higgins was born February 12, 1936 in Douglas County, Georgia, the daughter of the late Herschel Tucker and the late Maudie Parks Tucker. She was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Marietta and a loving wife, mother and grandmother to her family. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Arve Clyde Higgins and son, Ricky Thomas. Survivors include her daughters and sons in-law, Tammy Ronita and Andrew Adams of Douglasville; Betty and Danny Johnson of Oneonta, Alabama; and Glenda and Bobby Chastain of Dallas; sons and daughters in-law, Larry and Angel Thomas of Douglasville; Frankie and Gwen Thomas of Douglasville; and Tony and Susie Thomas of Alabama; sisters and brother in-law, Ruth Roberts of Temple; and Ellen and Robert Morgan of Monticello; brothers and sister in-law, William and Joyce Tucker of Villa Rica; Ernest Tucker of Blue Ridge; and Millard Tucker of Winston; twenty four grandchildren; twenty two great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted Thursday, March 20, 2008 at 1:00 PM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville with Brother Larry Ritch and Pastor Wayne Bray officiating. Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville Wednesday, March 19, 2008 from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
