Betty Lumpkin

Betty Ruth Shepherd Lumpkin, age 78, passed away on Thursday, February 22, 2024. She was born on February 14, 1946, the daughter of the late Adolphes Erastus “A.E.” Shepherd and Myrtle Mae Couch Shepherd.

Betty loved her family dearly. She enjoyed listening to music, especially Elvis. 

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughters, Angela Willis and Rhonda Smith; Tammy Fowler; grandson, Randy Henson, Jr.; siblings, Jean Henson, Dorothy Clay, Durann Jarriel, Kathryn Keith, Lula Mae Keith, Linda Emory, Janice Hackney, Donald Shepherd, Johnny Shepherd, Ronald Shepherd, Junior Shepherd, James Shepherd, and Danny Shepherd.

She is survived by her husband, James Daniel Lumpkin; daughters Audrey Smith and Jerri Lynn Smith both of Villa Rica; sister, Rita Smith of Temple; grandchildren, Dana (Keith) Veitch, Nicole Ivey, Kimberlie (Casey) Jackson, Brittany Jett, Billy Henson, John Jett, Jennifer (Dewayne) Harper and Melissa Willis and great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews also survive.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 29, 2024 at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home Villa Rica Chapel from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, March 1, 2024 at 2:00 PM, at Jones-Wynn Villa Rica Chapel, with Ms. Donna Folds officiating. Interment will follow at Meadowbrook Memory Gardens.
