Betty Jeanette Murphy

Betty Jeanette Murphy, 82, of Bowdon, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 3, 2026. She was born on January 23, 1944, the daughter of the late J. P. Bryant and the late Mildred Bryant.

Jeanette was a woman devoted to her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy to her life.

Jeanette was known for her sweet nature and she loved singing old church hymns. She was of the Christian faith and a strong believer in Christ. She played a significant role in the family business. She was instrumental in helping her husband manage their company, demonstrating a strong work ethic and a commitment to supporting their shared endeavors.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Murphy; daughters, Janet Haile and Lesa Sherwood.

She is survived by her son Thomas David Haile of Carrollton sister, Barbara “Bobbie” Gentry Bryant of Cooksville, TN; grandchildren, Jessica Smart, Mike and Amanda Sherwood, Erica Boehnlein, Josie Wolfe, Tyler and Jessica Haile, McKenna Haile, Gage and Jessi Haile, Amber Daley, Hope Farmer, Brandon and Christy Rieder; eighteen great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

In accordance with her wishes, she will be cremated. The family will have a memorial service at a later date. She will be inurned at Arlington National Cemetery with her husband.
