Betty Jean Skinner

Betty Jean Skinner, 88, of Villa Rica, (Flat Rock community) passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2024. She was born on October 29, 1935, the daughter of the late Lewis Cook and the late Mary Frances Rayburn Stacey.

Betty brought immense joy to those around her during her time on this earth. She was known for her loving and kind-hearted spirit. Betty was a joy to be around, and she radiated happiness to everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. She had an infectious energy that was always filled with fun and laughter. She had a passion for gardening, which was evident in the plants that surrounded her.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husband, Ralph D. Skinner. 

She is survived by her children, Betty and James Austin of Rockmart, Brenda Alford of Heflin, Al, Pat Skinner and Cliff Skinner both of Villa Rica; grandchildren, Christina, Jeremy, Victoria, Michael, Sarah, Mitchell, Michelle; two great-grandchildren, Blake and Adaleah; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 29, 2024 from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home Villa Rica Chapel. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, August 29, 2024 at 1:00 PM from the Villa Rica Chapel at Jones-Wynn with Pastor Steve Arrington officiating. Interment will follow at Cross Plains Church in Carrollton.

The following will serve as pallbearers: James Austin, Pat Skinner, Cliff Skinner, Ron Godby, Jeremy Alford and Ricky Nance.
