Betty Smith

Mrs. Betty Faye Ott Smith, 75, of Lithia Springs, Georgia passed away Thursday, January 1, 2015. She was born June 17, 1939 in Scottsboro, Alabama, the daughter of the late Mr. Henry Leslie Ott and the late Mrs. Rena B. Proctor Ott. She married Robert M. Smith on December 20, 1958 in Atlanta. She retired as an Underwriter’s Assistant for The London Agency. She was an avid collector of Coca-Cola memorabilia. She was devoted to family and loved taking care of her grandchildren. She was of the Methodist Faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Henry Ott. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Robert M. Smith of Lithia Springs; daughter and son-in-law, Denise and Darrell Newborn of Lithia Springs; son and daughter-in-law, Dale and Sherry Smith of Powder Springs; sister-in-law, Norma May; three grandchildren, William Newborn, Robert Newborn, and Jessica Smith; nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville, Monday, January 5, 2015 from 12:30 PM until 2:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Monday, January 5, 2015 at 2:00 PM at the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville with Chaplain Ron Daniel officiating. Interment will follow at Mozley Memorial Gardens in Lithia Springs. The following will serve as pallbearers: William Newborn, Robert Newborn, Robbie Newborn, Danny Newborn, George Ashmore, and Billy Ott.
