Betty Sodeikes

Mrs. Betty Jane Cruse Sodeikes, age 82, of Douglasville, passed away, Friday, March 4, 2016. She was born March 27, 1933 in Atlanta, the daughter of the late Mr. Norman Silven Cruse and the late Mrs. Ruby Reddall Cruse. Mrs. Sodeikes was a model for Rich’s in Atlanta and later was a seamstress for Briarcliff Mills. She worked as a receptionist for Whitehead Boys Club for 16 years, she loved children and was a childcare provider for many children in the community, shaping them into respectable adults. She loved flowers, swimming, and most of all playing bingo with her sister, Norma. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Peter Joseph Sodeikes, Jr., and numerous sisters and brothers. She is survived by her son, David Sisson of Douglasville; daughters, Michelle Glass of Douglasville, Brenda Pritchett of Douglasville, Linda Pritchett of Temple; sister and brother-in-law, Norma and Jimmy Rutledge of Douglasville; four grandchildren, Savannah Nicole Glass, Kylee Elizabeth Glass, Dwayne M. and Ronda Sisson, Jeremy and Gabby Barthalow; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville, Sunday, March 6, 2016 from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Monday, March 7, 2016 at 11:00 AM from Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Rev. Mickey Thompson officiating. Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
