Mrs. Betty Louise Jones Sollicito, age 67, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Friday, December 23, 2011 at Wellstar Tranquility Hospice following an extended illness. She was born October 4, 1944 in Wilmington, North Carolina the daughter of the late Mr. Lubie Jones and the late Mrs. Christian Elizabeth Bowen Jones. She married William Frank Sollicito on August 31, 1963 in Port Jefferson, New York. She was a member of Beulah Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and worked outside the home as a retail manager. She was devoted to her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, James Christopher Landmon; her brother, Johnny Jones and sisters, Hilda Frye, Kitty Esposito, Mildred Blake, Judy Eimers, and Pat Prather. She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, William Frank Sollicito, Sr. of Douglasville; three daughters, Tina Sollicito McLucas of Douglasville, Tammy Sollicito Landmon of Douglasville and Ceceilia Sollicito Dendy of Calhoun; two sons and daughter-in-law, William “Bill” Sollicito, Jr. of Douglasville and Thomas and Allison Sollicito of Calhoun; brother and sister-in-law, Bobby and Barbara Jones of Grant, FL; 19 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel, Monday, December 26, 2011 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at 2:00 PM from Beulah Baptist Church with Dr. Wayne Bray and Dr. Danny Watters officiating. She will lie in state at the church from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM. Interment will follow at Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery. Messages of condolence to the family may be sent from www.jones-wynn.com.
