Mrs. Betty Jo Payne Willoughby, 85, of Winston, Georgia passed away Thursday, March 17, 2016. A native of Douglasville, she was born July 31, 1930 the daughter of the late Mr. William Jasper Payne and the late Mrs. Etta Jewell Johnston Payne. A Proverbs 31 woman, she was devoted to God and family. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved people and she never met a stranger. She taught kindergarten at Mableton First Baptist Church for over 25 years and later at Prayâs Mill Baptist Church for 2 years. She taught Sunday School, worked with Girls in Action (GAs), sang in the choir, and helped organize a Ladies Prayer Group. She was a member of Ephesus Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters Louella Bagwell and Alline Lambert; her brothers, Guy Payne and Claude Payne. She is survived by her loving husband, William âBillâ Willoughby of Winston; one daughter and son-in-law, Debra âDebiâ and Benny T. Bosurgi of Douglasville; one son and daughter-in-law, Andy and Jo Willoughby of Powder Springs; brother-in-law, Nathan Bagwell of Winston; five grandchildren, Thomas Bosurgi, Jr. of Conyers, Jenni Cash and her husband, Steve of Douglasville, Billy Bosurgi and his wife, Jaime of Dallas, Colleen Fellows and her husband, Justin of Raeford, NC, and Madison Whisonant and her husband, Brandon of Decatur; three great-grandchildren, Ella Kate Cash of Douglasville, Ava Bosurgi of Dallas, and Ryland Bosurgi of Conyers; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville, Sunday, March 20, 2016 from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Monday, March 21, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Ephesus Baptist Church with Dr. Billy Godwin officiating. She will lie in state at the church on Monday, March 21, 2016 from 1-2 PM. Interment will follow at Ephesus Baptist Church Cemetery.
