Bettye Roberts Gilpin

Mrs. Bettye Roberts Gilpin, age 82 of Villa Rica, Georgia passed away Sunday, December 22, 2019. She was born November 25, 1937 in Yazoo City, Mississippi, the daughter of the late Mr. George Truett Roberts and the late Mrs. Elizabeth Hall Roberts. Mrs. Gilpin was a professional volunteer and was involved in local state politics in the state of California. She was also an excellent pianist. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Trudy Peden. Mrs. Gilpin is survived by her husband of 59 years, Mr. Tommy Gilpin, Sr. of Villa Rica, Georgia; son, Tommy Gilpin, Jr. of Greenwood, South Carolina; sister, Diane Allen of Greenville, Mississippi; brother, Truett Roberts, Jr. of Hattiesburg, Mississippi; several nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home of Villa Rica Saturday, December 28, 2019 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM. Inurnment will follow at Meadowbrook Memory Gardens.
