Mrs. Beulah Mae Mewborn, age 87, of Douglasville, passed away, Tuesday, October 15, 2019. She was born November 4, 1931, the daughter of the late Mr. Riney M. Smith and the late Mrs. Annie Mae Redden Smith. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, watching Jimmy Swaggart and going to church, worshiping God was of most importance. Mrs. Mewborn was a faithful member of Bible Church of God in Union City. She loved her grandchildren, helping others, very selfless, always putting others first.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Mewborn, Sr.; daughter, Betty Joyce Garrett; son-in-law, J. W. Garrett; brother, Loyd Smith; sisters, Rubye Thomason, Betty Ann Weed, Lucille Irwin, and Arizona Lewis.
She is survived by her sister, Jewel Evans of Ranburne, AL; daughters and son-in-law, Judy and Andy Black of Douglasville, Crystal Garrett of Alabama; sons and daughters-in-law, Paul and Shelia Mewborn of Douglasville; David and Teresa Mewborn of Carrollton; Michael and Candace Mewborn of Douglasville; 18 grandchildren; 41 great grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville , Thursday, October 17, 2019 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
Funeral Services will be conducted Friday, October 18, 2019 at 2:00 PM from the Bible Church of God in Union City with Rev. Talmadge Crawford and Ms. Jewel Evans officiating. Interment will follow at Mozley Memorial Gardens.
