Mrs. Beverly Ann Pickett, age 70, of Lithia Springs, Georgia passed away Thursday, November 5, 2009 at Wellstar Douglas Hospital following an extended illness. She was born August 23, 1939 in Lawrenceville, Georgia the daughter of the late Mr. Charles Rainey and the late Mrs. Frances Elizabeth Hughes Rainey. She married Robert Sammy Pickett on May 12, 1955 in Atlanta. She was a member of the Bible Baptist Church in Atlanta and was a homemaker. Mrs. Pickett was an avid supporter of the Disabled Veterans. She volunteered for the American Cancer Society. She was devoted to her family and loved her roles of mother and grandmother. She loved flowers and gardening. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Sammy Pickett; brother, Donald Rainey and her sister, Runnette Butler. She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Ramey and Brenda Standridge Pickett of Lithia Springs, Randy and Cindy Pickett of Douglasville and Casey and Tammy Pickett of Villa Rica; sister, Frances O’Neal of Fayetteville; four grandchildren, Justin Pickett, Mallorie Pickett, Colton Pickett and Brendan Pickett; two nieces, Jean Phillips of Douglasville and Faye Best of Fayetteville; two nephews, Darrel Butler of Atlanta and Bobby Butler of Watkinsville. Funeral Services will be conducted Monday, November 9, 2009 at 1:00 PM from the Douglas Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Rev. Ikey Watson officiating. Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel, Sunday, November 8, 2009 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
