Beverly Annette Hester Defnall, affectionately known as “Nana,” passed away on September 17, 2026, at the age of 78. Born on October 17, 1947, Beverly lived a life marked by warmth, creativity, humor, and a deeply generous spirit that left a lasting impression on those who knew and loved her.

A homemaker, Annette made a home not only through care and devotion, but through the many gifts of her personality. She was artistic by nature and found joy in creating beauty, especially through her love of Ceramics; at one time, she even had her own kiln. She was an avid reader, a devoted fan of the Atlanta Braves, and a wonderful cook whose enthusiasm for the kitchen was reflected in a collection of more than 100 cookbooks. She also delighted in simple pleasures, and Goodwill was her favorite place to shop. In all she did, Annette brought a lively and unmistakable spark. she will be remembered for her quick wit and for the bright outlook she carried through life. Annette was always positive, the kind of person whose cup was always half full. That hopeful spirit, paired with her humor and creativity, made her a beloved presence to her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert Defnall; her father, Hoyt Hester; and her mother, Evelyn Arrington Hester.

Annette is survived by her sons, David (Paula) Defnall, Allen Defnall; brother, Ronnie Hester; grandchildren, Dustin (Ansley) Defnall, Colby Grant (Breanna) Defnall, and Taylor (Tyler) Defnall Chesser; great grandchildren, Mason Cole Defnall, Cooper Defnall, Amberlyn Marnette Defnall, Evan Grant Defnall, and Eli Chesser. She held her family close, and the love shared among them remains a lasting part of her memory. Those who knew her as “Nana” will continue to cherish the comfort, laughter, and affection she gave so freely.

Annette’s life was one of heart, imagination, and enduring love. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all whose lives were brightened by her presence.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 19, 2026 at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home Douglas Chapel from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM with funeral services to follow Beginning at 3:00 PM.
