Billie "Jean" Brown Wilbanks, age 82, of Powder Springs, passed away Thursday, December 12, 2019. She was born May 26, 1937 in Marietta, Georgia, the daughter of the late Mr. Henry Fields Brown and the late Mrs. Callie Sargent Brown. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. Mrs. Wilbanks was strong in her faith and was an active member of her church family at Douglasville Seventh Day Adventist for many years. She was a homemaker, who devoted her love and time to her family.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Wilbanks was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Arwin Wilbanks, Sr.; her son, Timothy Wilbanks; her brothers, Ed Brown and Wiley Brown and her sister, Dorothy Murphy.
Mrs. Wilbanks is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Melanie and Bobby McLarty of Winston, Linda and Ray King of Cartersville and Crystal and Michael Liedke of Apison, Tennessee; her sons, Robert Wilbanks, Jr. of Douglasville and Billy Wilbanks of Powder Springs; her 13 grandchildren, Nicole, Michael, Lindsay, Robby, Courtney, Cory, Wesley, Katie, Casey, Kellie, Kayla, Emilia and Lily; 23 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends Monday, December 16, 2019 from 1:00PM until 2:30PM at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville. Funeral Services will be conducted Monday, December 16, 2019 at 2:30PM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn, Douglasville with Pastor Harold Peggau officiating. Interment will follow in Mozley Memorial Gardens in Lithia Springs. Those desiring to do so may make contributions to donations.adra.org.
