Mr. Billy Worth Hill, Sr., age 82, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at his residence following an extended illness. He was born August 16, 1930 in Royston, Georgia the son of the late Mr. Lloyd C. Hill and the late Mrs. Myrtle Irene Sheriden Hill. He married Patsy Ann Bishop on January 29, 1965 in Hartwell, Georgia. He was a veteran of the United States Army. During his time at Ft. Jackson, Carolina he worked in the motor pool as a mechanic. After his honorable discharge from the Army, he continued his career as a mechanic and went on to retire from Vickâs Auto Service in East Point. He enjoyed growing vegetables in his garden. He was a family man who was devoted to his wife, children and grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Ann Hendrix and brother, Floyd C. Hill. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Mrs. Patsy Ann Bishop Hill of Douglasville; daughter, Cynthia Gail Sledge of Douglasville; son and daughter-in-law, Billy Worth Hill, Jr. and his wife, Mikaela of Bremen; sisters, Martha McKern of Canon, Mary Carey of Royston, Betty Bond of Royston, Brenda Lunsford of Royston, Margie Horne of Athens and Dorothy Fowler of Royston; three grandchildren, Amy Sledge, Bobby Sledge, and Justin Hill; one great-grandchild, Wyatt Bell; three step grandchildren, Melissa Baker, Megan Johnson, and Cody Baldree; ; eight step great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel, Saturday, September 15, 2012 from 9:30 AM until the funeral hour. Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, September 15, 2012 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home & Crematory in Douglasville with Minister Allen Howard officiating.
