Bobbie Jean Chapman Cogland, age 92, passed away on June 4, 2024. She was born on February 23, 1932, in Porterdale, Georgia, to the late Mr. H. Glenn Chapman and the late Mrs. Lucille C. Guthrie Chapman.
Known for her warm and loving nature, Bobbie was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and friend.
Throughout her life, Bobbie created countless beautiful memories that will be treasured by all who knew her. She was an active member of the church senior group at County Line Baptist Church and had a talent for sewing, often making clothes for her children when they were young. Her crafty skills and creativity extended beyond sewing to various hobbies she enjoyed such as cooking, traveling, and watching Hallmark movies. Bobbie had a special fondness for the beach, with Daytona Beach holding a dear place in her heart, as well as her many beloved pets throughout her life.
Described as loving, fun, and family-oriented, Bobbie's proudest accomplishments were undoubtedly her children and grandchildren. She found immense joy in spending time with her family and creating lasting memories with them.
In addition to her parents, Bobbie is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 50 years, N.H. “Shorty” Cogland.
She is survived by her son, Terry (Scarlett) Cogland; daughters, Debra “Debbie” (Jim) Trapp, Janice “Jan” (Mike) Smith, and Sharon "Sherry" (Dennis) Jones; as well as grandchildren, Heather, Jeff (Angie), Nathan (Cyndi), Dana (Eddie), Kim (Scott), Michele (Regan), Bridget (Justin), Amanda (Jim), Derek (Amber), and Ryan (Kati); great-grandchildren, Christopher, Jada, Bethany, Rebecca, Nathaniel, Joshua, Samuel, Cody, Emma, Charity, Destiny, Jessamy, Abbey, Lily, Travis, Brandon, Brooke, Jacob, Tanner, Benjamin, Jackson, Parker, Mollie, Paisley, Rylee, and Kinslee; great-great-grandchild, Charlie; as well as a host of extended family and friends. Bobbie also has a sister, Glenda Chapman.
The family will receive friends on Friday, June 7, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM with Pastor Sam Braswell officiating. Interment will follow at Mozley Memorial Gardens in Lithia Springs.
